Communities range from custom luxury homes to semi-custom single family homes and townhomes. Our superb craftsmanship and outstanding commitment to service is evident in the quality products and customary features used in all of our communities.  The prices range from around $350,000 for the townhomes up to approx. $2,000,000 for a luxury custom single family home.

Building individual custom single family homes in luxury sub-divisions such as Country Club Woods, Country Club Meadows, Tall Oaks and Stirling Manor, DeMar and Fidelity Builders have found the right home site for each client and made their dream of a beautiful new luxury custom home a reality.
Prairie Creek of Kildeer was a sub-division slated for 57 homes.  Fidelity purchased it from Pulte Homes who was building a few homes a year, sold some lots to other builders and between them and Fidelity closed nearly 20 homes a year.  We increased the value of the average home from $600,000 to $1,000,000 by converting the community from large track homes to beautiful custom homes and was responsible for over forty million dollars in construction.

Ravenna of Long Grove was 109 sites for custom homes.  Fidelity Builders developed the land, was the builder and also sold custom home sites connecting them to 100’s of luxury custom homes built. 
Our newest project, Long Meadow Farms is located approximately ½ mile north of Rt. 22 on Old McHenry Road in Long Grove. This community has a total of 41, beautiful one (1) acre sites for exquisite custom homes.

Over the years Fidelity Builders has been honored by the Lake County Tour of Homes by receiving multiple awards for luxury custom homes in the 1.2 – 2.1 million dollar category including “Best Exterior”, “Best Interior”, “Best Kitchen”, Best Master Bedroom / Master Bath as well as also receiving the “Award of Excellence” six times and the People Choice Award for Best Exterior.

While it is very nice to receive accolades and be honored for excellent work and craftsmanship Fidelity Builders also believes in giving back.  Mike DeMar and Warren Smith have worked with Wheeling High School for many years, cooperating with their Construction and Architecture class field trips which are scheduled at Fidelity’s job sites where construction is under way on new homes they are building for clients.  Mike and Warren speak to the students explaining the construction process from start to finish and also arrange for their Architects, Masons, HVAC contractors, Electricians, Plumbers and Carpenters to speak to the students, answer questions, and discuss how often times decisions need to be made in the field by the contractors.  They also take a “hands on” approach to teaching the students about the right and wrong way of constructing.. The class always enjoys their time on Fidelity’s construction site, they actively participate, ask many questions and some have even inquired about summer job openings!

In addition to the field trips Fidelity Builders has hosted, Mike DeMar has been selected numerous times by Illinois High Schools as one of the local business professionals to showcase at their annual “Entrepreneurship Day”.  Mike has lead seminars and spoken to high school students and young adults about what it takes to become an entrepreneur and how he has become a success going into business for himself.

The Building Process


We at Fidelity Builders understand the commitment our customers make when building a new home and provide a building experience based on trust and confidence, with the highest levels of long-term customer satisfaction.

Before building your custom quality home with Fidelity Builders, Mike DeMar will meet with you at our spacious office in Buffalo Grove to discuss your “wish list” of features.  Our Selections Coordinator, Alison Garber is often involved from this point.  Then, collectively we begin to design your custom built Fidelity Builders home. 
 
 
Choosing the home site that is right for you and your family is also a big decision.  Often times more than one client is interested in the same site.  For your peace of mind it is highly recommended to place a “Hold” on the home site you prefer.  $1,000 is required to hold the lot; typically 1 week is the maximum time we will hold it while you make your decision, unless an extension has been agreed upon.
The entire Fidelity Builders team, Mike DeMar, Karen Gritis and Alison Garber work closely with their customers to design and build the luxury home of their dreams that fits within the customer's lifestyle and budget.

Signing the Contract!  After the elevation, floor plan, main selections and pricing have been agreed upon the contract signing take’s place. 

As earnest money, Fidelity Builders requires a 5% down payment at contract signing, 5% due at the time we submit for permits and 10% due when your new custom home is “under roof”.  A one step construction / end loan process to build your custom luxury home in Long Grove. 

The Selections Process is the next step. You will begin selecting all of the exterior and interior finishes for your new luxury custom home.  This is where the real fun begins! You will work closely with Alison, our selections coordinator as she will guide you through choosing cabinets, countertops, plumbing faucets, hardwood flooring, carpet, etc.  

You will have the benefit of meeting directly with the Low-Voltage contractor to discuss all of your phone, cable, surround-sound, etc. needs.  You will select your bath tile at Hawkinson Tile and Marble, a local tile showroom and distributor and be privileged to work with their experienced designers to assist you in selecting tile that fits both your style and budget.  Fidelity Builders clients will also visit a granite supply warehouse to select their slabs of granite that will be used for the kitchen and bath vanity countertops.

There are many decisions to be made during this time and Alison will be your main point of contact throughout the entire building process. With over ten years of experience working in the new construction / homebuilding industry she will be available to assist and answer any questions that you have as you journey through  this wonderful and exciting experience of building a new construction luxury custom home.
  
Your electrical / Low-volt walk-through will be scheduled a few days in advance of when contractors are ready to meet with you on site to discuss any final options that you may want to add. At this point in construction mostly all of your electrical selections will already be made and approved. This meeting is very important as this will be your final opportunity to add additional lighting, electrical, phone, cable, etc. before the wiring is complete and drywall gets installed.

Your final walk-through will be scheduled when your beautiful new luxury custom home is complete and prior to your closing. During this appointment you will walk through the house with a representative of Fidelity Builders and be shown how to operate all mechanicals such as your HVAC system, garage door keypads, appliances, etc.  Any questions you have will be happily answered.
At your closing, for your convenience you will receive a binder which contains all the phone numbers you need to transfer the utilities into your name and local municipal contact information such as the village hall and the post office.  Your “closing book” will also include all of your warranty, customer care/user manuals and warranty registration cards that you need.  Alison will happily go through the binder with you to explain everything and answer any questions you may have.  Finally, Alison will take great pride in congratulating you and presenting you with the keys to your fabulous new luxury custom built Fidelity home.

At this time you will also receive information explaining Fidelity’s post move in 90 day walk-through and 1 year Warranty period.  After you have lived in your new home for 60-90 days you should make a list of anything that needs attention and send it to Fidelity’s office.  A day for the work to be performed will be scheduled and completed. After you have lived in your new home for one (1) year you will again send Fidelity the items that need to be addressed and 1-2 days will be chosen for the work to be completed. If an emergency should arise anytime during this first year please don’t hesitate to call us.   Actually sometimes Fidelity’s warranty is for a lifetime because the relationships we form with our clients are so strong!
